Duck hunting opener

Thank You very much Chris, hope you guys have a super opener in SoDak. We will be heading out late this month.
 
I made it out hunting this morning and all the ducks were done flying by the time shooting hours came around:mad: But I did get a good picture of the sunrise. I think we all like the pictures so I wanted to share that with you even thou I didn't get any ducks it was still fun.

Golderneye, to bad you didn't get any ducks. But from the looks of that sunrise, it was a grand to enjoy what Mother Nature was offering......Bob
 
Nice bunch of Woodies Hyde, some good eating there. I like to save mine up for cold winter/late fall football days. Then put several in the oven and roast them with dressing..make gravy, taters, squash with butter and brown sugar. Cranberries...MMMmmm GOOD!

Thanks guys for the compliments on the picture.
(it's my new screen saver at work)I think that point has turned into a good picture taken place and not so good for ducks right now. I put some miles on this morning with a couple friends and before work we shot 12 ducks (mallards,teal woodies and a pintail.) I have not had time to load any pictures.
I think my waterfowl hunting is coming to an end soon my English Pointer HATES me right now I need to spend a few days with him before deer season.

Hyde you should re do you'r post to OnPoint and say when's supper.:D

We been just getting our limit of wood ducks each day. That's all the ducks that are around. Got a limit last yesterday and the day before. I had roast duck two days in a row. We had a bunch of company for the Vikes game and had a big duck roast. It's a easy hobble to my wood duck hole. Only hunt it once or twice a week. Don't want to burn it out before it freezes out. I have several good spots and rotate them. MEA week is coming and that will spell the end for duck hunting pretty much up here. The huge crowds from the metro will be around for 4-5 days. That kind of pressure will move most the ducks out of the state. Then freeze out won't be far behind.
Sat. evening


Have a dandy cold and am crippled up pretty bad. I think I'm just about done. I have done everything I could to get out this year. I'm not sure what my future is as far as getting around. What I have is said to be progressive and I could loose my ability to walk. I'll have to get elbow pads and drag myself then.

I have a synthetic stocked 12ga 28in that only weights 6.2 lb I love it! what do yours weigh?

Mine weigh 7lbs 8oz's but it's a 3.5" 12ga waterfowl version of the Cynergy

If you have been getting wood ducks still thats really good i think ours have moved on. I have not seen any for awhile.

My daughters B-Day on Sat. and for her B-Day supper she asked for duck.
Thats why I have not done much other hunting.

Still duck hunting I can only go on the weekends in Wis. had to take last weekend off, My friend had a pre-deer hunting / bon-fire party. I won't start phesant hunting until mid Dec. when I head to Kansas.

You guys need to shoot me some birds this weekend I have the kids B-day party and a thumb thats busted in four places now. So i'm done shooting for a few days at least. (the Doc said I could not play golf for four days. I feel I should be able to hunt in 3 :D)
Because I was in a hurry pounding nails getting the new dog kennels up and running they will be sitting idle now. (Stupid on my part)
My friend went out today and shot another mixed bag of mallards and bluebills.
When Done i'll put up a pic of the kennels.
