When I was a non res, I’d buy 3 SD licenses. Then I found the Lower Brule for several years and went to that and 1 non resident SD licenses. Then I moved to SD and the rest is history so they say.2 ND 4 SD. Lots of miles with Lena Feb-August running all over god’s green earth!

But does it really??I liked it better when the season ended mid January. End of January cuts into my fishing.
If pheasant season started at 8 am or so then It woulnt as much as late winter fishing is an afternoon thing. Starting at 10, and then driving an hour for the field to the cabin, hooking up the boat, driving to the lake and then quitting about 4 when its too cold to fish, it does. Im torn what to do tomorrow. Last wednesday, sat under the underpass west of Presho at 1:40 thinking that we either had to stay and hunt till dark, or race to the cabin, grab the boat and hope to get a couple hours in... which we did..But does it really??
I'm giving you a pass since you're fishing out of a boat on the winter and that's a lot of fun. If you are talking about waffling between ice fishing and pheasant hunting, then I'd say thumbs down.
totally agree Bob. I reserve ice for cocktails.I'm giving you a pass since you're fishing out of a boat on the winter and that's a lot of fun. If you are talking about waffling between ice fishing and pheasant hunting, then I'd say thumbs down.
I'm not much of a touchy-feely guy, but for some unknown reason that picture makes me sad.Done a few hundred thousand miles this way with Lena…![]()
Somehow Lena has achieved front-seat status…no dog of mine ever had before…any errand I run, any road trip, you name it, she’s right there with me…including most automotive work that I have done…my mechanic and his guys love her…she goes up on the rack, no issue. She and I have a very special bond…without her, I couldn’t execute my “20% diet”…she gets 20% of any fast food, gas station food, etc…not sure how it’s working, but we enjoy it! I love how emotionally expressive she is…does circles at mealtime, just like me. My other two are special as well, but Lena is a once-in-a-lifetime dog…not necessarily the best hunting dog (but very good), but the bond…she gets separation anxiety when I leave without her…maybe no living creature has ever made me feel so important or so loved?I'm not much of a touchy-feely guy, but for some unknown reason that picture makes me sad.
