Does conservation stand a chance?

Being a corn and soybean farmer and also a dedicated upland bird hunter and also plant food plots and help habitat at my own expense I want all to know that not all farmers are out to be profit robbers. Dont let the actions of a very few farmers mess up the reputation of all farmers. I belong to our local quail chapter, as we dont have pheasants where I live, and have taken money for my landlords share of the crops we have left but never taken any for myself and will never do that. As I want them to spend there money on habitat improvement and helping other things to help not only quail but other wildlife too.

I know lots of landowners in the area where this happened and they are good conservation minded people, its just another case of the actions of a few have hurt the many( less help from PF and a black eye to go with it):(

There are a dedicated group of farmers on here. Doing the heavy lifting. Making real choices between additional income and quality of life. Largely ignored or ridiculed by their neighbors for being dreamers. You guys are the last best hope we have. I thank you for it! I pray for conversion of the others, but I'm not holding my breath.

Even though the habitat hasnt changed or is better on my land almost all the land around is clean farmed so there is much less places for birds to be and the predators have a easier time too. I do see both sides but feel can have both habitat for wildlife and make a good living farming too. Iam glad all my landlords feel the same and barring bad weather will always have some wildlife on our land. There isnt a easy answer but I will keep trying to find one for , if nothing else to be able for future generations to have birds to hunt and wildlife to enjoy.
