DNR not checking hunters!

I just spoke with Dan and Pete from the DNR. They were out looking for some good ground opening weekend to hunt. I was shocked and asked them if they had to work. With all the cuts in the state budget, they are not required to work the opener. Do not get me wrong. Agents will be out that need to fill the forty hour work week. Just no over time agents. What a shame.

DNR? is this Iowa or MN you are referring to?

Just trying to help

Thanks for getting my back 1pheas. Just a shame that the state wants to charge us more every year, but guts the guys on the ground enforcing the rules. I would not be surprised if 30% of the hunters this year do not lisc. up!

I don't know about not buying licenses, but I could certainly see more guys breaking other rules/laws.

I'll try to get-by without them, don't need any Govt. types to help me count to 3.

Would you happen to be speaking of Dan from Presho?

I'm sure the "Dnr" are not posting a lessened effort on their part on any of the websites.....;)

It's up to us to police ourselves, and each other to an extent. We all know this state is way too big for any-size agency to police. That said, the cooperation of local law enforcement with GFP,in the critical areas of Central/West Central SD is better than ever in my observation.

No kidding. The DNR would never post they are down game wardens and boots on the ground. In bill sd-1028091. I read the budeget cuts there. In fine print was no over time granted. Strict enforement of straight 40 hour work weeks.
