Diamond Dog Food Recall

It's not the time to cast aspersions on those who feed their dogs Diamond products. Everyone makes their choice for good reason, for the most part. My pup thrives on Kirkland Premium Grain-Free Salmon; it's made by Diamond. It's also a 4-star rated food. Euk products are 3 1/2 star, so you are correct . . . it doesn't compare to Euk. I don't use Euk foods, but I also won't criticize someone for doing so. The issue appears to be a production quality problem in one plant; hopefully it stays that way & gets resolved. I've experienced people food recalls, tool & vehicle recalls,etc . . . it happens. The Kirkland/Diamond products on the west coast are safe, so far; here's hoping it stays that way. We're all entitled to our own opinions, but I'll not rub salt in in the wound of those who have been adversely impacted by this event. And I DO deserve to have my dog & he IS thriving.

I think our Moderator has done a great job informing UPH members of a potential food issue with Diamond products. I'm with 48 lets keep the personal food preference issues out of this thread, in hopes too make more viewers aware of these recalls.

We can always get a new thread on what's the best dog food.

I have been cutting out the bar code from each bag of food and taping it to the coresponding dog and cat food bins; that way I can track the food in my house. 3 animals w/ 3 different foods; complicated enough with feeding schedules let alone remembering when and from who each bag was purchased!
 
Great idea, Steel; thanks! I'm going to start doing that. Just to be safe, I trashed what was in the bin because I didn't have that info, even tho Hank wasn't experiencing any issues.

Diamond Dog food claims to be the best and then they helped TSC with 4Health, and all recalls, all problems all the time. How about us giving Country Vet and Loyall so credit. Thier food has always been problem free.
 
Diamond is fine.

If you guys had any idea what a human "processed food" plant was like you'd never buy anything in a sealed plastic bag again.
 
Ive hunting with dogs on Diamond and my fathers dog is on loyall same as my lab, and at the end of the day thier to only two labs keeping up with the pointers.

Think again, Cargill has, they make Loyal.. No dif then Diamond making several brands.
