Demand for Hay could be up in 2013

I noticed recently that hay prices remain quite high considering the ongoing drought conditions. Cattle producers demand for feed is keeping hay prices high and high prices will cause more haying pressure. I would assume this would translate to more road ditches mowed and maybe even more state lands cut for hay. Worst case conditions would cause demand for another emergency haying and grazing of CRP lands.

I know, lets turn the plowed ground into pasture with reseeded native prairie! That seems almost biblical, like turning the swords into plowshares, sort of like, return the ground the way it was before? I like beef better than corn, except sweet corn, then it's a toss up, but better when they are together:)
