Corn progress in SD

Im betting they are 4-6 weeks out from harvesting corn. Some guys are just starting on soybeans. been lots of moisture in the N/NE part of the state. I use this website to see rain totals for the summer.
Livestock/dairy producers are just getting wrapped up with silage harvest.
Soybeans vary wildly. When I left Sioux Falls friday afternoon to head to Faulkton for the weekend there were a few soybean fields opened up around SF, but once you get 30 miles north/west everything is very green yet, corn included. Nearly all of northeastern SD has been pretty wet since June.

There will be plenty of crops for the birds to hide in on the opener. Most of the state is getting wet right now. Farmers aren’t going to be in a hurry to get the corn out and have to dry it with the prices the way the are.
