That time of year again. 2 big ones yesterday and today. Today we actually wanted the fire trucks there as cattail slough on both sides of a unimproved road. If it jumped the road it would burn for 2 miles.
Saw my first firenado. Cattails and feragmites into 15 ft tall cedars. I was amazed how long the wildlife stayed put.

According to PF, nest initiation starts in early May…incubation takes about 24 days…first attempt hatches peak around 6/10…probably laying eggs into mid-May for the first attempted hatches…
