I have hunted pheasants in many different states and had some great day's. One of the best day's I ever had was north of Valley Falls about 25 years ago. It was snowing hard and I was off of work. I had done a job for a guy up there and had secured permission to hunt his property. He allowed nobody to hunt so I was pretty proud of myself for getting permission

. I hiked to the back end of his property and he had 5 or 6 waterways of foxtail grass, about knee high, through some cut milo

. By the time that day was done the dog and I had seven quail, three pheasants and two ducks I jumpshot off the creek on the way back. What a day! I still venture up that way once a year. Unfortunately that farm has been leased now since the owner died a few years ago.
I was thinking of trying Eckman again to warm the dog up a little. Do you have any experience with them? I hunted there about 8 years ago or so and was less than impressed. The cover was pretty weak.
