Very Sad state of affairs. Read the comments. Sounds like this problem has been going on since 1993. What about the people who live down stream?? Is their drinking water safe...............

All of the cities and towns in the Missouri River Basin release untreated sewage into the river at least occasionally when the treatment plants are overwhelmed, or in this case under water. Downstream towns treat their water appropriately to neutralize the hazard. I think this is far more common everywhere than the casual observer may realize.
