my gsp is almost invisable in the grass. she is too timid for my beeper collar. im thinking of getting a vest for her so i can see her better. is there a really good one out there without spending $75. or does someone have a trick to use besides spray paint

she is too timid for my beeper collar.

Proper introduction to the beeper collar is required. Not much different than introduction to gunfire. First time I turned the beeper collars on in the house both my Brittanys when running for cover. I then turned the volume down and place the collar about 30 ft. away from the dogs when they were in their crates. I would let it beep for several minutes at a time. Eventually, over a period of days, moved the collar closer to dogs. They soon got to a point they just ignored it. Then I put if on the dog on low volume and gradually increased the volume. They could care less not when the beeper goes off when they are on point.

Beepers...Bells...My Golden is almost impossible to see in: sorghum, cornfields, high grass. I use a bell and it helps, especially in cornfields. He can be 10' away and impossible to see or hear.

Several weeks ago a fellow had a beeper on his GSP and it drove all of us nuts!

i only use a beeper to locate my dog other than that i hate them. ive always put a peice of tape over the speaker and hang it on the outdoor kennel and just leave it all day. then i pull the tape off and do it again. then ill tape it back up put it on the dog and take them to the field and let them run. its never failed me yet. if you dont or wont use beepers, avery has a high visible vest/chest protecter its only 30.00. im gonna buy one for my weimeriner this is my 1st weim and i now know why they call them the grey ghoast lol.

I have used the vest mentioned above from Cabelas. It rubbed the area under her front legs pretty raw. If I use it again, I will need to cut out that area a little.

Here is a home made vest. I needed something that covered his legs, that he had cut up and had the hair shaved off.

Its a kids under armour shirt, and the we sewed stronger fabric over the wear spots.
