Camo

I used to not wear orange, but finally heeded my dad's persistent advice. Like A5 said, the majority of pheasants don't see Sage and I coming, they hear us. Interesting note, we were hunting with some family a month back and waiting for people and I laid down in the cattails. My daughter came over and was shocked at how calm and warm it is in there. But commented that you can't see anything. Just sayin'. Orange or not, I'm pretty adept at identifying bipeds.

It would be interesting to know how often a pheasant actually sees me coming. Certainly they do occasionally. My guess is pretty rarely though. That said, pheasants always seem to know which direction to run, & if they were truly running blind through thick cover (as sometimes assumed), how would they always go the right way? Obviously they key in on noise. But maybe they're much more visually aware of their surroundings, even in super thick cover, than I've given them credit for all these years. 🤔
Imo,they see orange. If you are wearing camo, you will get shots like ducks.
