Ive got several brands pairs all $200 plus boots . One brand I kinda like the best for waterproof / comfort/ ruggedness is discontinued

I like mid height , hiking type boots 5"6"7" ..... I have Danners(3 different styles), Lowa renegadeGTX, Vasque St Elias, Irish setter etc

I might try some "light" Mindels next

Oh I like Irish setter wingshooters for comfort and durability but they are "too dang heavy" and the soles are too slick. I Use them when working around my property ;)

Crispi Valdres 2 gtx. Best boots I have ever had. I have used them every where from the Rockies to South Ga. Awesome ankle and foot support. Three years and they still feel good and I hike and bird hunt a lot.

You won't be disappointed in the Meindls. Very lite, but also very good ankle support. I also have several different brands, but I always reach for the Irish setter Terrain's. lite weight, pretty durable and a decent price. I bought another pair of EE's I'm going to try and wear them in some colder weather with some heavy socks.

Muck chore cool, shorter version…below knee height…put orthotics in them for plantar fasciitis….pretty light…easy on/off…walk for hours, very comfy…

That's what my brother wears. I like the feel and fit of them but could never get them to hold up. But the fauna is a lot different here. Lots of briars, multiple rose and such. In my prime I'd shred a pair of briar pants a year. I need ankle support also. When wearing rubber or hiking boots I find myself watching every step, afraid of that dreaded crack of a bad ankle sprain. That really sucks in the middle of season.

I could see that being the case in tougher terrain, for sure…I wear them in ND/SD for sharpies and pheasants…no rugged terrain, but lots of hills in ND…put lots of miles on them, have held up well. My favorite leather boots are Irish Setter 869’s, I believe, but they’ve been discontinued…very comfortable for me…wish I could still buy additional pairs…

I am on season 3 with my Crispi Idaho GTX II and love them! The only others I think I would try right now are the Crispi Upland Pro. I have a 20yr old pair of Filson Uplander that I wore and loved for years, but they are really heavy.

Just picked up some Muck Wetlands and have worn them on a couple of hunts, and they are light and comfortable. I usually wear muck-style boots until freeze up, then switch to a shorter boot.

I love my miendl light hikers but the quality on these seem to be getting scetchy lately. I have been using them since the early 2000s and back then they were branded with Cabela's logo and were what I think much higher quality. Been looking at crispi but haven't decided yet.
