Bo Knows Pheasant Hunting

I was watching the ESPN 30 for 30 on Bo Jackson and towards the end he talks about his passion for hunting and he shows his "trophy" room which is filled with wild game. At the end he shows a nice pheasant mount..which got me excited. I googled Bo Jackson pheasant hunting and came up with a few pictures of him pheasant hunting...apparently he won "best shot" and some pheasant hunt...thought it was pretty cool.

...White Sox. Lives somewhere near Chicago. Always thought he was a class act as an athlete, don't recall him showboating like most of the garbage in the NFL. Pretty cool that he spends his time hunting, and that he makes his own arrows...and that his neighbor trusts him enough to shoot them into his yard. Think Fred Bear would be glad to see another avid archery hunter. One celebrity you would be honored to hunt with. Wouldn't be caught dead hunting with Cheney, you just may end up that way, even if you wore orange! (Wonder if he hunts alone when he goes to Paul Nelson's club in South Dakota?)

Was there ever a better athlete than this guy? Strong, fast, coordinated, powerful..... too bad it ended too soon.

We sat the the left field bleachers at Royals Stadium and watched Bo. I have an awesome picture of him. Need to find the negative and make one for the wall.

I spent many a night in Royals Stadium and am convinced Bo Jackson is the most over rated player in the history of baseball. He would hit one home run and it would make Sports Center, but the ten strikeouts in between it and his next home run and his floundering play in the field somehow never made the show. I read somewhere that statistically he is the worst clutch hitter in the history of baseball. I personally watched him come to bat in the seventh and ninth innings of the same game with the tying run on base and take six consecutive called strikes and never take the bat off his shoulder. John Wathan was a big catcher. He had more stolen bases than Bo. Mostly because Bo was too lazy to try to work at it. World class speed and couldn't steal a base.
I could go on, but if I see the catch where he runs up the wall one more time, I think I'll puke. I remember sitting in the stands the night he was in left and Flash Gordon was pitching againt Jim Abbot of the Angels. It was in the 8th inning and the game tied 0-0. Some one hit a ball out to Bo. He charged in like a running back about 20 feet. Then he cut to the left, racing like a running back to get to the ball. Then he turned around and started racing back with world class speed as the ball went over his head and landed exactly on the spot he was standing in the first place. It ended up a no out triple. Maybe the most laughable attempt at fielding I have ever seen. The saving grace was that Gordon went on to strike out the side stranding Bo's mistake on third.
I spent years watching Bo. He was all show and no go. Maybe the best football player ever to play baseball, but even that is subject to question.

One of my good friends and his dad actually pheasant hunt with Bo quite often.. They met with him through hunting.. They say he is a great guy
