Where can you shoot 8 roosters, 20 quail, and 30 doves all in one day? Mexicali Mexico. And yes these are all wild birds. Who wants to go to Mexico?

what happens in Mexico stays in Mexico my friend lets go shh.. dont tell everyone where we are going

Kansas is closer!!!!!!! Do not ruffle your feathers, it is a joke!!!

You guys aren't scared are you? I live basically in Mexico USA so I don't mind going down there. The outfitter Arturo Malo has a great reputation and actually picks you up in American and takes directly to his fenced hacienda, I don't think having patrons kidnapped is good for business.

Go to mexico

Seriously guys, I've been to Mexico about 20 times, a mixture of business and vacations and there's no problem. The media blows everything out of proportion. You want to talk about kidnappings, you don't ahve to go any farther than Phoenix, the #2 city in all of North, Central and South America for kidnappings per capita. Not that I would want to visit the border towns right now, TJ, Nuevo Laredo, etc., but traveling to the interior can be very nice, like Queretaro, Guanajuato, Guadalajara, Tequila. The people are wonderful and I think a hunt like that could be a memorable experience. Don't let the border wars stop you from taking a trip.

I can't find the prices now, but I thought they were reasonable when I looked into it a few years ago. I want to say it was around 400 a day all inclusive. Where else can you hunt harvested cotton fields like the old days. No need for habitat management, they still farm the old way. I am seriously considering planning a trip next year.

I pretty dark for a gringo, plus I speak decent Spanish so I'll be alright.

Quail Hound, a Mexico Pheasant hunt sounds fun but you just can't beat the good old USA for pheasants. That aside, I must admit I've been tempted to look into a hunting trip down there but I've heard too many horror stories from people I know (not the media). On the other side I've heard good things too. Maybe I'm just too much of a softy?

1pheas4, Like anything else, get references. I have a buddy who has been south of the border on a couple turkey hunts and he recommends it highly. I would follow his recommendation if planning such a trip. You hear good and bad, follow up on the good with calls to people who have been there, and I would think you could expect a good time.

How much of a hassle is it to get your dogs across the border? I wouldn't want to do it without them.

A good outfitter will take care of all the paper work to bring your own guns and dogs. Dogs need to be current on all vaccinations. Most of the pheasant hunting are drives in unharvested milo, with bird boys driving, but I'm sure they will be happy to acomidate whatever you would like. Quail hunts are where you would want a dog.

Mexico AIN'T no USA!!! The drug runners know where the birds are though:D

Uguide, I'm assuming that's because they're crossing over the border through quail country?:)

The drug wars are not just limited to the border towns. I have a relative that
was kidnapped off of a whitetail hunting ranch and kept for 3 days. He lost
his pickup and every dime he had on him plus his gun, and to talk to him
he thinks that was very cheap.

with all the places to hunt here stateside, i see no sense in crossing over in the current climate of rage in Mexico.
