About two years ago I met a couple with 2 chessies in an obediance class. Allie the older female had her TDI (therapy dog) Bob the younger male was a handfull, actually he was a troubled dog, fear aggressive with no respect for his handler. He wouldn't retreive, or behave on leash, he barked constantly when crated and so on. Some of his problems maybe were man made, others were caused by his insecurities. Bob was a little dangerous to be around...... Bob needed help big time. The couple had some nice training property and we became good freinds and formed a training group. Bob is now FF, CC, forced to pile, runs sight blinds, and has had a lot fliers shot over him.

Today Bob ran his first test and smashed it!!!! He earned a working dog certificate, of the eight chessies that ran only 2 passed! He may not be my dog and I only helped with training but I have never been more proud. His handler had tears in her eyes after the pass. Everyone deserves to feel like this once in a while!

many would have given up on a dog like that, congrats, i am sure you helped turn him around and it sounds like he is a much happier dog for it too.

Your dead on. He easily could have spent the rest of his life rotting in a kennel. Bob is truely a pleasent dog who loves to train. His owner is reenergized as well, She borrowed my place boards to start three handed casting!

Agree 100%!
Just goes to show, if you (handler) and dog put in the effort, it's so much better for everyone. congrats

Update to the Bob Saga.

Today at the Chippewa valley HT Bob eaned his first Junior Hunter Qualifying score. He didn't barely pass, he didn't have a gimme mark thrown. He very simply did what was asked of him in a very solid and rather stylish fashion. He is a dog anyone would be proud to call their own. And yea his handler cried again......

About an hour ago Bob earned his 4th JH qualifying score. He is now an AKC JH titled dog!!!!!!!!!! I may have even teared up a little bit.........

Its hard to believe a little over a year ago I was satisfied when Bob refrained from biting me

Kudos to both you AND Bob!
