Benelli Silver Featherweight vs. Ethos

Looking at grabbing either one of these guns in a 20 gauge. The Silver Featherweight would come in a 24" bbl and the ethos in a 26". Curious any thoughts from people who have shot or handled both?

I’ve handled an ethos is 12 ga. I prefer the SBE3 in 20 ga. Ethos is nice if you want wood, but I thought the SBE 3 balanced and shouldered better for me.

I should clarify I would be using this gun for upland (mainly pheasants) with a little bit of trap shooting

I am biased as I own both 12 and 20 ga Silver Featherweights. I went to South Dakota with my 20 and decided the late season birds need more ounces of shot to down them. And sometimes, you need three shots to down the bird. The guns are very light and their recoils from 3 inch shot are mild when using an aftermarket recoil butt pad such as the ones from Falcon Strike.

I would get the Montefeltro Ultra Light over the silver or the ethos. More modern technology and a much slimmer feel.
I have one of these and it kicks hard. I am going to try and figure out a way to put a better recoil pad on it but try to keep the LOP the same or close to the same.

I'm thinking it may be the older version but I'm not completely sure. It's a 12 gauge and it kicks hard. I love the light weight but hate the recoil.

Well if you have not bought it within the last 2 years then it's the older version. The thread is about a 20 gauge so of course a 12 will have some thump. A 20 gauge auto is going to be soft shooting. All my 20 gauge auto Benelli's are like BB guns with any shells.

Yeah I have a franchi affinity 20 and it is a pleasure to carry and shoot.
