ATV pull drill seeders

Anyone have experience with Truaxor or Dew Drop compact drill planters? Cost?
 
I checked them out. They dont post pricing. Any ideal what they cost?
 
No, I am trying to figure that out too for spring. But the fella that has the native sed farm, did say the trueax drill was a good one.:thumbsup: And recomended to find someone with one of them to use. Lawn grass guys he said.

I wonder if tool rental places might have them?? I will check on that.
Thought about buying one.
 
In a lot of towns, the NRCS office or the Extension office has drills for rent. Another option is some of the nurseries have them as do seed dealerships.

Thx. I will check that out too! I have about 25 acres on my small farm to do some habitat work on.:thumbsup: I have dozers, backhoes and bobcats and a small john deere tractor and going to try and make a go of it this year

As of now thats already the plan. They do not have a trueax here. But I will call a few lawn guys first. I guess they are a no worry drill. Can't screw up the depth.
 
What is an ATV pull drill seeder? I dont think they make a drill that can be pulled with an ATV, looks like their smallest drill, 4 footer, weighs in at about 1500 lbs. and requires a 3 point hitch. Oh and another thing, if its adjustable, it can be screwed up!!:D:D

They make a compact unit for ATV UTV.
 
Seeder cost is about 11000.00. I think I will disk and brodcast seed and drag.

I was told they have one depth, the ones he told me about, and you can't screw it up.:thumbsup:
 
They have depth bands on the disk openers that control the depth to approximately 1/2 inch at all times. The way to screw it up is to back up with the drill down and plug the drop tubes with mud.

Bob, another option is to look for an old 12' grain drill with a small fert or grass box on it. I found one for $300 in MN. Search on craigslist for "grain drill" and see what comes up. You can do both grass, small grains and other food plots. I also drag a cultipacker behind it and that helps a lot.

A local PF chapter may have equipment to rent too.

Jealous. I've got a 90 horse JD 4020 with bucket...was thinking about the tractor version, but I think for some of the more tight areas (including deer plots) that the ATV version would be better.

Let us know how it comes out!
