AS non toxic shot becomes manditory, will the 410 and 28 fade away?

What's your thoughts?

I understand that there's a drive to even force shooting ranges/gun clubs to make non toxic shot mandatory. In Minnesota, it's being driven by a conservation Org. and the Mn DNR

While I can certainly understand the use of NON Tox for waterfowl or shooting over water, I would like to see the studies the DNR is using for it's recommendations for using it for ALL upland hunting statewide.???

I doubt there are any studies and their recommendations are purely without basis and more politically driven than anything else. :rolleyes:

Didn't they (DNR) send out a survey to hunters regarding this a couple years back?

I don't really believe that they will just fade away. In Skeet Tournaments you have all gauge events. Which are the 12, 20, 28 and .410. (Sorry George no 16's) That makes a 100 bird event. On that basis I will say that type of shooting events will keep them alive.........Bob
 
I'm still looking for a non-tox alternative for my 16 ga. I used the Federal Premium steel loads last year with pretty good results. I'd like to try the Kent Tungsten Matrix loads but at a cost of $3 every time I pull the trigger I just can't stomach with price. Anyone find a better buy on the Kent's than approx. $32 for a box of 10?

The whole non-tox issue is just another anti-hunter and anti-gun angle. There never was a big problem with the loss of birds, only a few areas that were heavily hunted over shallow water had a concern with this.

It's just another thing we have to put up with.........for now. ;)
