I'm wondering if anyone is a member of Armslist.com? There is a shotgun listed on Armslist but I don't want to join just to ask the seller a few questions.

If you are a member what has been your experience with Armslist. Seems like a lot of controversy on the web about the site.

I haven't followed any controversy - but have been a member for 8 years or so - bought a SxS from a guy on the site back in 2011 or 2012 when I joined - just peak every now and again.

What I was most nervous about was sending the money ahead of time - but I had my ways of making sure the person on the other end checked out and got enough information I had access to their social, acquantances drivers license etc unknown to them so if they did screw me I had some form of retribution.

If you're buying local problem solved i guess.

Thanks KsHusker. If I was to PM you the link to the gun I'm looking at would you be able to contact the seller with some questions?

I bought and sold a lot of guns on Armslist when they wanted a upgrade to my account I got out of it. Years ago you could get some fantastic deals not so much now. I personally would not send money ahead unless it is a established business. Never had a problem when selling I would meet in a location that was a high traffic area and also would always bring along a"friend" who also carried. Even met at a local police department one time at the suggestion of the buyer. I also printed out a bill of sale for all my transactions and had them sign it if they didn't want to sign no deal.

I dont care. Do they charge for accounts now?

Obviously I set up mine a long ago - figured it was still free - and only cost money to list

Does Venmo and PayPal (owns Venmo) allow payments for ammunition and guns ??

Seems like PayPal is the answer - just agree to pay the added fee or split it. The insurance factor makes the small % adder more than worth it.

There are a ton of scams on Armslist but I have also bought probably a dozen guns over the years that were listed on it. Most of the scams are very obvious. I always make sure to talk to the seller prior to sending any money and also ask for a picture with a dollar bill or something else that is odd so if they don’t have possession of the gun they can’t fake it. I will say last gun I bought there was probably 1-2 years ago so can’t speak to what it’s like recently.

Have had some fun screwing with the scammers there like telling them you will buy and then a week later asking if they have received the money. Also when they give you a city they are in I used to tell them I have a brother that lives there and he will just stop by and buy it in person. That gets them to disappear quick. 😁

PayPal does not allow for payments of guns. I sold an old single shot some years ago via forum like this. The guy sent me the funds via PayPal. How PayPal ever found out the funds were for a gun is a mystery, but they did and they banned me for life.

$6.99 per month to join. I just hate going through the hassle of joining and then attempting to cancel just to ask the guy some questions and maybe buy one gun.
