Any dangerous natural features you encounter while hunting?

Coyotes. I was hunting down a tree line with a 10-month-old Wire. She was not a small dog. Probably 40 lbs. at that age. I saw her turn and entered the trees. Next thing I saw was what I thought was a big German Shepard jump straight up into the air, like it was playing. I was just casually walking up there when they both came out. What I will never forget is how much it toward over my pup. It was still jumping like it was playing but was trying to get at her haunches. She instinctively wouldn't let it by spinning every time it pounced. I couldn't risk a shot so just yelled and ran towards it. It took off but got peppered. I've seen a lot of yotes in my day but never saw any that even came close to its size.
Not hunting but, we had a several inches of snow on. It had been on for a while. I had a 15-acre weed patch around the house and had seen that they were hunting it regularly. We had another couple inches at night and I let my shorthair pup out just after daylight to pee. I had picked up a broom to sweep the snow off when I heard the pup yelp. I looked up and here she came flying with a coyote right on her butt. I threw the broom and yelled at it. I stopped at about 10 yards and gave me the worst look of distain that I've only seen one other time when a Badger gave it to me once! After that my .357 rifle came out of the safe, loaded up and set close to the door. That was 25 years ago and it's still there.

Gators, marsh mud, tidal currents, and snakes are our local frenemies.

When we travel out west, I am more afraid of what I don't know than of the things I do. Thankfully, the learning curve hasn't been so steep yet.

One I forgot about. Know a guy who was bird hunting in Montana with a couple of other guys. Later in the day one of the guys wanted to hunt a draw but friend and the other guy were tired so hung out at the truck.

Hunter was gone about 45 minutes and they hear a shot, figure he got into birds. Then they hear three more shots then nothing. Wait another 30 minutes and hunter is nowhere to be seen. They head out to see if they can find him.

They walked the draw about 40 minutes and see the hunter curled up with his back up in the air and wonder WTF? Call out to him and he looks up has blood on him and says, "He's right behind you!" Again, wtf? Friend turns and grizzly bear charges up and swipes him knocking him down. Other guy fires his shotgun and bear takes off. Friend is down on the ground and his scalp is flipped over the front of his face. First guy wasn't hurt, just cut up but they had a hell of a time getting friend back to the truck about 1.5 miles away, then driving over an hour to a doctor.

The pictures of the blood were amazing.
