A Friendly Reminder

just a friendly reminder, please do not litter the roads. ditches and pull ins at the WIHA's (or anywhere else for that matter)......every season I pick up at least 2 plastic garbage bags worth of trash, cans, bottles........ every day I am out hunting the WIHA's in Kansas. let's all carry some trash bags and pick up, including any bird parts and guts/feathers from cleaning......let's show some respect to the landowners who make their ground available for our sport.

Great post.

My sons and I used our game pouches for more than just birds. Lots of hulls and trash is picked up during our walk through the fields.

I like my hunting experience and that of my fellow hunters to be as pristine as possible, like we were the first persons ever to set foot on this land. That is not possible when one is stepping over trash left behind by others. I always feel it is best to leave it better than I found it.

I firmly believe willful littering on public land should result in a suspension of one's hunting license for a period of 2 years and mandatory 100 hours of roadside clean-up commnity service. 2nd infraction should result in a $5,000 fine and revocation of hunting license for life.

Would you find the guy that dumped a 1 ton flatbed load of asphalt and shake shingles here on the wildlife area and tell him that??? Its a big problem. We, as Americans, could learn a lot from the Nordic country residents. I deal with this all the time on my area. This year one was a copper theft dump of the things that weren't copper. Caught guys dumping their yard trimmings. Tried to tell me that they were coming back to camp and were going to burn it. Still had green leaves on it. They got to load it back up, sign tickets, and be followed back to town. Had another group dump their house trash all along the road from town to my area, 8 miles. Something like 29 bags. Won't pay for a dumpster cart. Nice to have those addressed envelopes in the trash! Sorry, kinda got off topic.

Ya I was thinking by the time a guy got a loader and a truck out there and paid for proper disposal the fine seems a little low .

The year we were there pheasant hunting on opening weekend of the gun deer season , you could have retired picking up beer cans and selling them.

Trash

I have a cabin and boat a lot on the Mississippi, it is amazing all the beer cans that float down the river. My can box fills up fast after holiday weekends....

Good reminder. Seeing litter while hunting is always disheartening to me.

I always pick up trash as well, funny thing is I get to Montana, Colorado or Wyoming and never see as much trash. I sure wish people would see the beauty in the prairie as they do the mountains and leave it that way.
