Its been awhile since Ive posted anything but I thought I would share a few pics of the pup and I on our last few quail hunts. We're mostly duck hunters but the duck hunting has been so terrible lately and the local quail numbers have been up, so we've been re learning the upland game lately. Its been fun watching the dog figure it out again.





 
Nice! Those look like some nice dtches/ hedges you guys are working, the covies can get pretty big in them especially if there's a lot of berries and wild rose.:cheers:
 
Yep plenty of berries. We've been mostly working adjacent to water which has produced some decent covey's as well.
 
Do you see lots of poison hemlock/ wild carrot (not positive what it is)? I've been finding tons of quail in that down in the valley.

Look for elderberry too, quail are usually gorging on them right now.
