Had one of the most outstanding September hunting seasons.

I have been involved in taking 100 birds since September 1st.

Pigeons, doves, geese, prairie chickens, ruffed grouse. Over half of the birds were taken over or retrieved by my dog.

I've got some grasshoppers you can hunt, and some land in Florida.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here, but the forecast is showing another string of 80+ degree days later next week. Even mid 80's possible. And still no measureable rain in sight. Guess we'll just keep going with summer here.

Some people seem to think that early ice fishing season is not that far off either...

I realize the weather can change pretty dramatically this time of year but its going to take a massive shift in the pattern here to even consider that before 2025 at this rate.

I think it was 2, maybe 3 years ago I was sitting in my deer stand on opening day wearing nothing but a long sleeve and pants in the afternoon. Think temps were in the 70s that weekend.

I remember it. I think it was about 5-6 years ago. A high of 67 degrees on opening day. Brutal

Covid year. Temps were high and night time temps well above freezing. That year we slept in a tent even though there were two cabins across the entire property to separate out risk.

We played poker outside after dark.
