2024/2025 Pheasant Hunting Videos

Now when making a video I throw the misses in. But do I have to put every single one in? I've had some less than stellar moments pointing a shotgun this fall🫣.
I plan on putting mine in, some decade, when I get around to doing something with the footage. I can't say for certain I've had more less than stellar moments than you, but I can't imagine you having *that* many more.

Everyone should be grateful too. Someone has to keep the shotgun shell makers in business!

Here I spend a short afternoon then the following day out in MN. Took Tracy the Brittney dog with, 2 years old. The last 5 minutes could be titled "what do you do when the dog points in a patch of vines/thorns that you can't walk through." I also walked a spot simply because it looked so terrible, with so little cover, I just had to try it. Conditions were nice, cloudy, drizzle at times.

Loved the Kato Ballroom humor at the end.

She wasn't going to give up on that cripple. Very nice.

I like to toss a few pictures in. Often of the dog or bird, sometimes something interesting or funny I saw along the way.
I have thought about doing that too, when I start processing my videos.

I grew up in Fairmont, an hour south of Mankato, so the Ballroom was commonly heard in conversation.

Back in South Dakota once again.. likely my last trip of the year. Regardless, we're still shooting birds. Hoping I don't become "the ditch guy" but man are they producing! It's dry as hell and nearly impossible to find downed birds if they're crippled. Anyways, here's another video. There're about 3 more on my channel from my last trip I didn't list on here if you're bored.

I know, I know.. more ditches, but it works! Also, @That1uncle1776 I guess you're not the only guy to blow a wing off this year, as you'll see in the video.. Praire Storm 5's seem to work good enough when the entire pattern connects..

Nice video! Hunting ditches is nothing to be ashamed of. Sometimes it sure beats wandering around in areas where pheasants AREN'T! You're hunting legit pheasant habitat that actually holds birds. The dog is hunting the cover. You're using edges & cover size to your advantage, just like you'd try to do elsewhere. And you're taking the path of least resistance, just like you'd do elsewhere. Plain & simple, in SD there are times when it makes way more sense to hunt ditches than public land, if your goal is to actually shoot pheasants. There are some who turn up their noses at ditch hunters & call it road hunting. No, that's a vastly different thing. They're just jealous because while they're hunting harder, we're hunting smarter.

Alright, here’s my last day from SD this year.. insane winds, an insanely tough bird, and some nice dog work. I think there’re 3 more videos on my channel I didn’t post in here as well. Most of those are pretty decent. We were 15/15 this time out, hunting mostly new spots each day. We’ll see if I can’t convince my wife to let us go once more in January.
