You are so right. I quit figuring cost per bird a long time ago. I've gotten 4 in kansas for a half tank of gas, and ive shot one in three day's in western kansas for 3-400 bucks. So, so true! that is why I love my dog. She's my excuse and reason to drive to Kansas, Nebraska, or South Dakota every fall! To see her work and play at what she LOVES is worth the trip. I missed several what should have been easy shots this year, but I killed enough to believe I was hunting and had a wonderful memorable season. I'm looking forward to next year and feeling sad because it is all closed until it opens again next fall. Good Lord willing I will be back!
