10 day license

Last year I purchased a SD out of state license and I had to pick two separate five day periods. My brother just purchased a SD license on the phone yesterday and he was told that he could choose consecutive 5 day periods. Has the rule changed that a non-resident can hunt the entire 10 days straight or did I just not understand the rule to start off with?

I don't know how long it's been that way but I've gone 10 straight for the last decade. I suspect it has always been that way.

I believe they are still separate they just put them back to back. Never been a requirement to have any space in between.

The non-resident license is for two 5-day periods, but there is nothing to say you can't have those periods back-to-back for a 10 day hunt.

Don't forget that your possession limit is still 15 pheasants even if you hunt 10 days straight. Better eat some or donate them if you get to 15.

Yep on the 15 possession limit.

We have a saying in the camp: "Eat faster, they're gaining on us!"

We do host some very nice dinners for the folks that let us hunt. Main course is always some sort of pheasant dish. It helps.
