Went out Grouse hunting where I had seen a bunch a week ago and all I see are Elk and Moose!!!!! And Baby Moose!!!!! Still a great trip!!!!!! It had dried up, and I think the Grouse found a better place to spend their time !!! :cheers:

So far looks Good in areas in S.W. Kansas. Hearing some encouraging sightings. More Quail sightings as well. One pair of Quail with a brood of 12 crossing the road. All good sized.

S.W. Kansas has been hit hard with heavy rains. 8-10+ inches have fallen in some counties. Northwest of Garden City and down by Liberal. 4-6 inch rain has been more widespread in the region. Not good for nesting hens!:( These are in a 24 hour period!!!

Had to get out even though bone spurs are limiting my walking. The property owner drove me around in his Polaris Ranger and a couple of coolers full of refreshments. Would of done better walking around I think. A lot of bladed brow tined deer though! [/IMG]
