How many CO UPHers were at the Golden Plains Motel in Holyoke on Sat Nite/Jan 1st??? Just wondering how many of you I slept next to - the parking lot was filled with trucks/suvs/dog boxes & the place was jam-packed with hunters & dogs in nearly every room. I know at least one or two of you CO...

FINALLY managed to get out for the first time this yr on Thurs, just me & the pooch. Had two birds on the ground by 8:15 a.m. (should've had my limit already if I shot like I normally do - but kinda rusty these days)...Shooter may have sucked, but watching my lab make two L-O-N-G retrieves...

If only my dog could point/flush elk or mulies, the limit was 4 like pheasants in KS & it was legal to hunt them here in my semi-suburban neighborhood - or magpies could be painted-up in brighter rooster-hues & the breast meat was just as tasty as phez - I would be in business around here close...

Had a GREAT humanitarian/missions trip to India during the NE opener & should be in Africa right now till well after the CO/KS opener doing the same thing at one of our brand new start-up orphanages...BUT during the one-week interim period home in between, like a cold slap in the face my 29 yr...

Well, I had a hotel room reserved & plans already made - but looks like things have been made rather easy for me on skipping all the Opening Day Circus... Will be in India during all the early-opening states, I now have very important non-hunting out-of-state visitors coming during the Nebraska...
