how's everyone's season going.....things have been pretty good for pheasants this year...not finding near as many quail as what I did last year but more pheasants are making up for it....we were also still finding woodcock up till couple days ago... Ace pointing covey of quail Ace on another...

Crazy as it may seem with all this COLD weather we've had and even worse to the north...im still finding woodcock..my dog pointed 2 this week while quail hunting

much better day today....moved to new area 2 hours away...found lots new cover and birds in decent numbers..cooler temps.. and very few other hunters...NOW I'm having fun...lol bird #1 very young rooster ...guess thats' why he was first to hold for a point. Ace on point bird #3 for our limit!

went out again yesterday morning looking for birds....only found 2. both were pointed by Ace ..killed first one...had no shot at second bird...getting my chores done today and packing for South Dakota Ace pointing first bird got him! found some nice cover... Ace pointing second bird...

decided to go check my woodcock spot this morning to see if there were any around....Ace had 2 points....birds were typical migrants....very jumpy...had 3 other wild flushes....didn't see the birds...just heard them go out....I'm gonna try again tomorrow

was up in northern IL last week training with a buddy ....this is my wirehair Ace pointing and one of his Setters backing....I'm ready for the season to start! another week and I'm South Dakota bound!

Does anyone run into any during early season? should I be worried about them?

well...think I'm heading to the Sand Hills next week to try for some sharptails and prairie chickens....I'm a first timer. will be an adventure. feel free to offer any helpful hints ....

the summer is almost over....that means HUNTING season is coming...just thought I'd post some pics from a typical summer day with my German Wirehairs....bird work on pigeons and water work...we have dove and teal season coming up...then grouse and woodcock in Michigan...then....pheasants and quail!
