I hunt my own land for bobwhites, in prime quail country. I’m about an hour away from pheasant country. My favorite place to go is about 4 hours away, which is no big deal for a weekend hunt.

I think you sum it up very nicely. While some years may result in more birds in the bag than others; pheasant hunting in Kansas is an experience. One I wouldn’t trade for any other.
Anxious to hear how y’all do! There’s certainly a lot of excitement about Iowa pheasant hunting this year. I pray that everyone has a safe, successful, and blessed season.
Two more weeks until our pheasant and quail season opens here in Kansas. Until then it’s waterfowl and deer for me.
The report on quail in southeast Kansas sure isn’t consistent with what I and others have been seeing in my area.
I’ll be out there regardless, and will enjoy it whether I get into a lot of birds, or just a few.
