I'm calling total.bullshit, you would take an ass whipping from a guy like me, and there is no doubt.Get a gopro
Total bsBeen shooting above average, early on it was a lot of wing tipped birds and running criples. Thankfully that's lessened and I'm stoning more in the air. Dogs have been great and not lost a bird yet hunting solo. Did have a low flying straight-away I missed 3 times with autoloader on Saturday. Bird flushed at my feet. I don't really like that gun and plan to sell it. I also missed a layup this year, but thankfully my buddy got him. Main loads are 1 1/4 lead 5 and bismuth 4 at 1300 or 1350fps. I've got a random collection of other shells, #4 stormy prairie and whatnot that might come out late season. Going forward I plan on buying ammo in flats and narrowing the variety in my collection. Main gun a 725 feather 12ga. with i/c and mod. Most birds with angle I hit the extreme front end, don't miss many behind. 2 recent roosters had broken beaks and not one pellet in the breasts. I think it's from all the clays I shoot, which generally require more forward allowance.
Lol, every time I see one of these ass grabbers talking about expensive ammo, and they're 100% shooting, which is total b ullshit, and their dog trainer, and all this other bullshit,I just have to laugh.Goose, I swear to god, get your ass on a podcast, or your own show of some kind on YouTube or TikTok…you’d be a huge success! You’re what this country needs…I’m serious! I love the majority of your material…you’re kind of a Larry The Cable Guy, but with a MT bird hunter sensibility….please! Or, the Larry Bud Melman character from Letterman 40 years ago….brilliant!
Some of it is worth the $, IMO…there are lots of people out there that know a hell of a lot more than me, and I’ve benefited from their expertise…Lol, every time I see one of these ass grabbers talking about expensive ammo, and they're 100% shooting, which is total b ullshit, and their dog trainer, and all this other bullshit,I just have to laugh.![]()
Goose a lot of people offered advice to you when you posted about how many pheasants you were crippling. They offered you advice as to ammo and patterning your gun. You also asked about your dog and cripples so suggestion were made to help you. Maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on those who offer help. Lots of good people on this forum who will help others in a heart beat. There are several who I helped get a new puppy from River Farms, pointed a couple of people to Winans Retriever kennel for training and started dogs. I would do the same for you. The comment on 100% shooting was probably a joke. Nothing wrong with well trained dogs and good ammo. Anything to help put more birds in the bag and leaving less birds crippled in the field.Lol, every time I see one of these ass grabbers talking about expensive ammo, and they're 100% shooting, which is total b ullshit, and their dog trainer, and all this other bullshit,I just have to laugh.![]()
Please stop encouraging. Wait, your encouraging him to take his show out of here...sorry. carry on. You can make money on you tube and Tic-Tac, we will see you there!Goose, I swear to god, get your ass on a podcast, or your own show of some kind on YouTube or TikTok…you’d be a huge success! I think of goose as our mascot, of sorts…maybe reverse mascot? Just do the opposite of what he advises…keep dogs in crates, shoot quality ammo, pay a farmer now and again for access when good habitat has been cultivated, shoot birds that are feathered and colored no matter their size, etc, etc…Please stop encouraging. I spend a lot of time looking down…love that shooting streak!!! Very cool…nice gun!!!My right ankle has been broken 2 times and fused 3. It has caused my knee to become unstable. In normal field hunting situations I am OK but on uneven ground I struggle to find a good solid base to shoot from so I shoot well sometimes and others I just shoot to say I did. I'm also scared to death of badger holes (one of the ankle breaks was caused by stepping a size 13 foot into an 8 inch badger hole, heel first), so I spend a lot of time looking down, feeling around for holes rather than watching my dog so some flushes are total surprises. It's frustrating, but comes with age I guess. Back in the "good old days", one season in Kansas I shot 24 roosters with 25 shells using a Ruger Red Label 20ga. Won't ever happen again I'm afraid.
I never went 24 for 25 but I had only shot 10 shells for my first 9 birds last year with my new model Montefeltro. My right ankle has been broken 2 times and fused 3. Are you guys done.....Ok. In my better shooting days, I once shot 30 birds with a single box of shells. Yes, a few doubles in there, just for showing off. I hunted exclusively alone that season.
