Montefeltro Likes/Dislikes?

14.25" LOP is the outer limit for me. The only two 14.25" LOP shotguns I've tried (and own) that work for me are the Browning 725 Citori and Affinity with the "medium" recoil pad. They work only during early season when it's shirt sleeve hunting weather. When it gets colder and I have to start layering, 14.25" is too long.
I bet the Monte will fit you just fine. I will measure mine again tonite.

My former gunsmith told me a longer LOP usually helps one’s shooting…he retired…terrific gunsmith…Eric Meitzner, Solon Springs, WI…something about the way u mount the gun that has a longer LOP…

If it's warm enough for short sleeve hunting, it is too hot to hunt with the dogs so I'm not going. Like I said, a midget could hunt with the Montefeltro. The Montefeltro has a very short length of pull. That is the complaint I have heard about the Montefeltro and Ethos. Tall guys have to add spacers. You need to try one, I think you will be surprised. And you can adjust shims for a perfect fit without a gunsmith. Benelli makes the best guns you can buy.

If you are having a problem with recoil or fit, get an English stock for it. I bought my BUL in 2005. I went to Jaqua’s & they had 5 of them. I had them weigh them all & I bought the lightest one. The first time I shot a turkey load through it, it was pretty rough. I had a buddy make me an English style straight stock for it out of a beautiful piece of hickory from a vintage farm wagon he had. He also put a Limbsaver pad on it. That knocked the weight down about another 2 ounces, but the recoil was noticeably less. I have to have all of my buttstocks cut as I am only 5’6” AND have short arms. He cuts all of my stocks for me. He will only make English stocks for my single barrel guns & will not do my OUs & SSs, but he will shorten them. He has done several Benellis for me. Shortens my rifles too. The only thing I do not like about Benelli is that it is really hard - to impossible to find a shorter smoothbore barrel for them. They say they made a 24” barrel for the UL but I have never seen one. I would like to have a 21” barrel like my original 1100 special field. Mine has a 26”. I do have an M1 super 90 with the 20” barrel, & of course my buddy’s wood replacement English stock instead of the black synthetic.
