Moving to Minneapolis area help

I actually quite enjoy some of the places getting crapped on. Robbinsdale downtown is quite nice. But I get it for schools, not the best. Polaris is Medina? If that was me I'd do "rural". Delano, Corcoran, Maple Plain. No sense in commuting any further than necessary. And the Tonka/Wayzata/Western Plymouth housing market makes me queasy.

Nothing funny about what happened yesterday
For sure, I hadn’t even thought about that in relation to this silly thread…been listening to KFAN a lot, hearing lots of interviews, etc. I assumed the prior quip was a comment about robbinsdale. Terrible stuff going on…don’t know why I wanted to recall date of Columbine, looked it up yesterday…4/20/99…I was enroute to the Sandhills of Nebraska to Turkey hunt when I heard ...bot gas for .99 cents, I recall. One of my sons works for a school in Plymouth, Mn…they did a lock down for the rest of the day yesterday…prayers to all affected…✝️

Close to North Memorial..... In case you get shot.

Or need basically any type of serious health care.

My Mother was at Lake of the Woods the week before last and broke her arm in multiple spots. Can't conduct orthopedic surgery at a rural hospital in Baudette. Not a trauma center.

My point is that if you need anything more than stitches in a rural area, you aint getting it.

That's a very good point. People like to poopoo Minneapolis, but I work in a major metro hospital and we not only get the tougher cases from our state, but the cases (mostly pediatrics) that Sanford in the Dakotas doesn't want or can't make any money from.

They asked her if she wanted to go to Bemidji or Fargo, or tolerate the pain and go to one in the Twin Cities. That was a no brainer.

I'm sure most people don't consider this sort of thing until they experience a serious medical issue or injury.

Lot of people poo poo on Minnesota for its political landscape, but we have the best health care in the country. You won't find a state with better health care.

She sounds like a tough bird!

My brother wants me to move to Duluth. I'm not sure I can handle the winners up there. I'm sure it's beautiful in summer and fall.

Duluth is ranked as the top location in the entire country most likely to be unaffected by climate change.

The reason: the world's largest supply of freshwater that provides a near constant inflow of colder air during droughts and heatwaves. In other words: free air conditioning.
