X2 I have few guns I like....I love this oneSteal some $, sell your body, buy used, or some of each….i can’t speak highly enough of the Benelli ultralight…mine is a 12 gauge…6 lbs…3 shell capacity…I have lots of guns, this would be my go-to if my life depended on hitting the target. The most important thing is the fit, and you can use shims to create the proper fit with this gun. Lots of good guns out there, what feels good and fits you is key. If you’re near Duluth you’re welcome to borrow mine and shoot clays.
Saved me typing, well said.My advice is always the same, go to the gun store and pull up as many shotguns as you can and remove the ones that don't fit quite right. Pull up with your eyes closed and then open them. Some guns pull up right on the money and others have the barrel up to high, some too low, etc. This method is how I landed on Franchi Affinity.
Yup. Short search is over. I chose a Franchi affinity 3 20 gauge in black synthetic. Was down between that and the beretta a300 and settled on the affinity. Felt good and liked where the safety is at more.Saved me typing, well said.
Great choice, I bet you're gonna enjoy that gun!Yup. Short search is over. I chose a Franchi affinity 3 20 gauge in black synthetic. Was down between that and the beretta a300 and settled on the affinity. Felt good and liked where the safety is at more.
I have a Maxus II wicked wing. Soft shooting but I much prefer the Benellis. All of the previous posts mention good guns. Most north, some well north, of your $1000. If that's the range you want to stay in I would look at a Winchester SX4. I've shot them on multiple occasions and they shoot well. I own a Maxus II which shares the same gas system and have had zero issues with it shooting everything from trap/dove loads on up to turkey loads.
I did the 3Franchii affinity 3 or the 3.5.
I have 2 of them. Great for the moneyI did the 3
I am constantly messing with my action to make sure it's closed when I carry my SBE 1 in the field. I've heard the click no less than 25 times since purchasing this gun new in 2003. 100% of the time when this happens, it's a rooster, it's in range, and seems like most of the time, it was always one of the few "gimmie" birds you have all season.Beware the Benelli “click” on the old models! The bolt becomes unseated, even 1/128”, and it doesn’t fire…happens! You have to be attentive anytime you close the bolt, or touch it. Happens to me once or more per season and there’s a bird flying away! The new ones supposedly are cured of this, thanks to the new ethos action. If you’re firm on price, I’d look at older beretta’s…12 gauge.
I remember one of mine, about 3 years ago…that rooster flew right over me…it was the most beautiful, colorful bird I’ve ever seen…my buddy was on the other side and couldn’t shoot…reminded me of the time Bo Derek tried to seduce me, but I couldn’t perform, and I dropped my viagra pill and we couldn’t find it…she looked and looked, I gave up. I was thinking about that rooster and the click…I am constantly messing with my action to make sure it's closed when I carry my SBE 1 in the field. I used to get so mad, I would have a toddler meltdown fit. Now that I've matured, I get mad and have a grown man temper tantrum!
