How many have at least met -- actually met -- if not hunted with someone they had never met before solely through contact in UPF? Does anyone intend to meet a forum member for the first time to hunt with this season?

I have met and hunted with one (ex) member and might meet up with another for a hunt this year. Hopefully one of these years me and Jmac will work out a hunt swap also.

I have; in fact, I'll be heading to SD with one this season. We plan to spend a day hunting with a SD member who has invited us to hunt with him on his land. I will spend a few days with a Salina member and his son this season and put in another request to hunt with a site member in my area that owns Viszlas. I'd like to hunt behind his buddy's setters one time also (hint, hint) if he'll have me.

Must have met and hunted with 7 or 8 different people from the site. I've yet to regret having done so:cheers: There are some great guys on this site!

I met a KS-resident/ND landowner via this site. We found we lived in the same town, and that our sons are in the same class. See, there are some benefits despite my wife's opinion of my time spent on the site.

One member actually offered me a chance at a last-day-of-the-season hunt on land that he owned and managed for pheasants. He just said in a post a day or 2 ago that I wouldn't get to do that again b/c of my opinion about a "resident only" w/e:rolleyes::confused: I'm not sure how/why those 2 things go together, but okay.....what's unfortunate is that I just got access to a pretty good size farm not all that far from his place. My hope was to meet up and return the favor this year, but I don't like hunting with people that are sad at me:D

I plan to if the Good Lord is willing and I live long enough!

UPH hunting pals

Have not met anyone yet but that is going to change this year as I have 4 or 5 members who may stop by and hunt with me this year--I must say I do look forward to meeting them and hope we can have a good hunt:cheers:

Yes Quial Hound and I will meet up, the birds are kind of slim this year, so it's not cost affective, here in Az. I hope Sooty and Qh can hook up in the mean time.

Great thread btw.:)

Yep, I actually bought my pup from a member a about a year and a half ago. Then a few others from the site and I that also bought pups went out lady December for a weekend hunt. Good times with done food guys!

Mn opener I will be hunting with 3 member 1 that I did not know until I was a member. I have met 10 or so others for our MN get together last spring. Hope our MN hunt hapenps again next spring!

As of yet I have not had the opportunity to physically meet anyone but I have "met" some great people:cheers:. Being from NC it is more difficult to connect out in Kansas or SD but plans are in the making. KB if your SD trip changes this year then I still hope to hook up and hunt one day with you. SDJIM some day we will make the pilgramage out your way and I will come and shake your hand and walk some fields with you and my boys.
Kindest regards to all!

I have not met any as of yet,but I have plans in the works for this year for some that don't live too far from me for this year.Next year I plan on going to kansas or S.D..

I met several at the preserve hunt and get-together we had in Minnesota last spring. I've also hunted with at least 4 members of this site on other occasions in both South Dakota and Minnesota. It's been a great site to connect with fellow pheasant hunters. So far everyone I've met have been great guys. I look forward to meeting and hunting with a few more this fall.

The comradery we share as uplanders, never ceases to amaze me, nor does the generosity of some. There isn't one regular on this site who I wouldn't gladly share a field with or put on their first covey of valley or mountain quail.

some of us kansas city guys all need to meet up sometime. I bet on opening weekend, a majority of us will be within miles of each other!

OldandNew is suppose to take me quail hunting this fall/winter but he has not told me when to show up.

I have hunted with and met in person several here on UPH, as has been the case with other hunting forums I am on. It has been very enjoyable.

I have not had the opportunity to travel much in my lifetime, but I travel the world through other's eyes. I keep an atlas and a highlighter at the computer and mark places I travel to through cyberspace.

Thanks guys, you are great!

If you make it out here Wolf then by all means look me up.

I've only ever met one person from the site, but he seemed pretty cool and I'm glad I followed up on that.

I've sent out a few PMs to try and meet up with other guys in the area and nothing ever comes from it. Maybe someday...

I remember hunting desert quail in AZ back in the 70's and boy oh boy did they like to run--I really don't think I could keep up now days ( to old, to fat). Then there were the scaled quail that were very hard to find (didn't have dogs--seems the AF frowned on dogs in the barracks--LOL).
I can still see as plain as day my dad taking a big rooster that I as a 5 yr old put up for him out of a SD road ditch--guess it shows just how long I've had this bird hunting problem--oh ya I'm 63 now so I've been at it for 58 years. The only regret I have was I didn't hunt Pheasants when I was in Korea--now that would have been a GRAND MEMORY:)

I live in Boise, and had some communication with Wessel. Ended up going out to his kennel near Boise. He has a beautiful place by the river here. It was fun to see his dogs and have a tour of his land.

Really nice guy, and some really neat dogs. I do some bird chasing out past his place and intend to stop in and say "Hi" on one of my outings that direction in the next month or two.

I also have met a few local guys here off the Pointing Lab forum. We've become friends as well as hunting and training partners.

My wife refers to all these guys as my "Internet Dates"!

Anyone on here from the Selby/Akaska/Mobridge area in SD? I usually make an annual trek to that area opening weekend...sadly, not this year due to time/finances...this $3.75/gal gas is a killer!
