Rain Dance

Some of you fellas need to strip down and start your very best renditions, I can't do it all from down here in the south.

How bad is it on the ground? I've been watching the forecast in some of my favorite areas and haven't seen any appreciable amounts to talk about.

Around Brookings it hasn't been near enough. Under a 1/2" a couple of times but warm/hot temps with wind this next week aren't going to do anyone any favors.

Ah yes, the dreaded drought thread.

It's dry in western MN too. Eastern half is in good shape, but the western portion needs it. And I'm seeing 90+ degrees for a few days early next week...

I'll do what I can to send all our rain here in NW Arkansas your way. We got just over 12" in April!

Starting to see the jetstream shift in the forecast that will hopefully bring some moisture to the upper midwest over the next 3 weeks. Not holding my breath though. Going to be a lot of exposed mudflats for duck opener here in SD this fall.

Another system may drop significant rain in the region today, tomorrow, and into Wed.

They are predicting over 2 inches here in MN from this by Wednesday afternoon. It would be a slow, steady rain too which is the most ideal for the landscape.

Good rain in NW SD. Unfortunately hatched chicks may suffer as it is also cold, near snow temps. I'm always surprised at how well the birds survive in spite of everything man and nature throws at them.

Sunday I was visting with the friend/local farmer and when I left, I asked his daughter to do a rain-dance for us....maybe she did. Sunday night we received just under an inch and last night 1.1". I think we are a couple weeks from the hatch here. We really needed these rains, it was so dry in my food plots, the seed hadn't even germinated yet, just hanging-out in the dry dirt.
***this in is NW IA***

I was watching those temps as well. Hopefully most haven't hatched yet and the hens will get by for a few days without suffering too much.
