buying SD pheasant license OTC

anybody out there buy there SD pheasant license small game license ETC. over the counter??? i plan to do so & just have a few basic questions maybe a few SD veterans can clear up for me???

1) when i buy my license on say tuesday b4 legal shooting time can i go hunt that same day??? or do i have to wait till wednesday to hunt???

2) can i buy my license with green cash??? or do i need a credit card???

3) are the license they print me out PAPER? like if i get it wet will the license fall apart??? of is the license kinda plastic wear u cant tear it apart like a SD turkey license or KS small game license??? i hate paper license they get wet & fall apart on me & or wardens cant read my info...

i dont want to create a account on the SD game & park so they can print me 1 when i get to SD??? id rather just buy my license then at that time & hit the fields...

i am now more confused then i was B4 i asked a few others about the issue most buy there license on-line so they could not help or be 100% sure...

i will call the license vendor i plan to buy my licence at & ask them the same questions but thought i mite be able to clear things up here 1st also???

any info that pertains will be much appreciated

Last year I hunted the same day I bought my Lic.. I paid cash money and they handed me a paper Lic..

They ask you when you want your second week to start...I just say the last week of the season and when I go back I go to any place thats Lic's and they fix it for the dates I want, for a few bucks.:thumbsup:
 
sounds good except the cheap paper license part!!! they sell enough of them to make em a real license pretty cheap!!! do u have to have you license on you at all times in SD??? for turkey hunting you didnt even have to tag ur bird unless you put in on/in ur vehicle but i think u had to have ur license on u at all times maid very little sense to me???

can i just leave the 2nd hunt period time blank??? when they ask me when i want my 2nd hunt period to start??? or do i have to do the same thing gpowers dose & say the last wk then get a reprint or get a re issued license if/when i go back to sd to hunt???

Just put in one of those plastic license proctor sheets they give you and the paper will hold up fine. You are going to get a different one when you come back for you second trip unless you know the dates. My MN one is just paper because i bought it online. Book it for the last week and all you have to do is change it just like you bought the license the first time.

You want to use the last week as your second date until you know for sure. If something comes up, there is no way to fix once the period starts.
 
they have the same type license in NE for turkey hunting i have 10 of them cheap license protector things they give u at fleet farm ganger MTN ETC. my NE turkey license turnt to mush after i sat on it when it rained so i may have to put it in a plastic baggie after the license holder???

so i cant leave my 2nd hunt period blank then??? i have to give them a date???

i refuse to get the paper license if i can help it i like to keep them from years past the paper tags are just not the same
 
Cash works. Paper license it is.. You can make as many copies as you want for safekeeping. The license you get from the vendor is the same license you can print out in the comfort of your home. You have to declare your second period. If you don't know, just put the last 5days of the season in 2014 and move them in when you come the next time. Once you buy your license you can stop at any vendor, (or from home) and give them your birthday and last 4of SS# and they can access your account.
 
ok cool guys thanks for the tips i will buy my license over the counter with cash & maybe have the person print me 2 copies... i will also do the last 5 day thing for my 2nd hunt period...

$125. Good for ten consecutive days, or 2 different 5 consecutive day periods. If you buy before Dec15 2013 you must use this license during this season. If you wait till after the 15th, you can use 5 days this season and 5 days next season..
 
SD lic

Just purchased mine online. The handling fee increased the cost but I feel it is worth the extra money since I do not have to remember to to buy while traveling.
