Here's a 1954 Merkel 200E 16 gauge that owned me for a couple years. It was a magnificent 6 lb. 7 oz. wand. Unfortunately it didn't quite fit my physique, and being in about 99% condition I didn't have the heart to mess with it.
I'd prefer one serving of the Merkel rather than the CSMC.
The Galazan offering is their copy of the Boss....like Taurus does to Smith & Wesson.
Good gun and well-made but lacking in the Boss esthetic to my eye.
I believe Boss did make the odd 16 o/u and Woodward made a few....either has a better sense of proportion, to me, than the CSMC.
But any of them are beyond the range of personal sanity and union cards.
Those Galazan guns remind me of a Jay Leno joke. Jay felt that the guys driving Hummers could save some serious money by just getting their foreheads stamped, "I NEED MORE ATTENTION!" My wife and I almost always giggle and refer to the "stamp" when we meet a Hummer on the road.
