Youth Season

I hope many find some time to take out the kids this weekend. My boys and I hope to find some quail and a rooster or two close to home. Best of luck to everyone!

Saw an adult hunting along side a youth today. Called the GW but haven't heard back.

Managed to pin down a rooster late this afternoon. The boys doubled up and put him in the bag. We hunted hard for him but it’s smiles all around now!

Took two kids out today, had a few chances. Ended up putting one in the bag after a some misses. Seen some birds but not as many as last year (same spot). Looking forward to next weekend!

I miss youth season. My boys are now too old. I loved working the dogs and watching the kids.

Same for me. Mine are 22 and 20 now...

I used to take my nephews out on youth waterfowl weekends the week prior to opener in Colorado. Always enjoyed the time and my dogs appreciated the extra work, especially as the kiddos became good shots. They grew out of it, I've ben asking friends kids if they want to get into the sport but no takers so far.

My cousin's son has shot a few hens, but I'm glad to see him getting out. It's important to get kids into the sport.
