While I was out hunting this morning.....

While I was out hunting this morning, my wife had a bird encounter. We live in-town, be it a small town, but several blocks into town. This morning she decided to open the bedroom window as it air seemed a bit "stale". Once opened, she hears a rooster crow. She looks out the window as a rooster pheasant flies out of a hazelnut bush in the back yard and a big cat comes out from under it as this happened. To add to this, she says squirrels starts chattering at the cat, giving it heck. We have had fox, deer, ducks, skunks, coons and opossums, but no pheasants that I am aware of. Interesting morning for my honey.

Side note, it looks like the birds in the tri-county area will get a break from me tomorrow, as I need to do a bit of a drive to check-out some used rear tires for the tractor.

Stray/feral cats are responsible for billions (yes, billions) of bird deaths world wide. An extensive study was done on this about 10 years ago.

Every single one should be eliminated.

It is about responsible pet ownership. Cats are very efficient killers. All dairy farms have them and most farms have them. Most farms you hunt on probably have them too. It is a big problem with no humane solution.
