What to do now

What a bummer now that the season is over.
Every weekend since the season opened I was out hunting with the dogs.
They are a little beat up and need a few days to heal up, but not the 7 1/2 months to early Prairie Chicken season. :(

Got to get some training done in the off season, but I sure will miss getting out and doing some hunting with them.

Hunt some snow geese, turkey hunt, mushroom hunt, fish, then it's about time to hunt again.

Older I get the faster the seasons seem to roll by. Seems like yesterday that everyone was excited about opening day of their favorite season. Sucks.

Count yourself lucky.

With the end of season and long, hard exercise...Mick, the new, used, dog is.....

perky. perky perky perky perky. bouncy bouncy bouncy perky.

sigh...

Woke up the other day with FIVE, count 'em, five...playtoys on the bed next to my face. He was sitting there, ears up, tail wagging, and just waiting to play.

I don't do 'perky' before coffee.

Work the pup, chores I neglected during the season, work the pup, fish, work the pup. hunt coyotes, . . .

oh ya sure to get right on with the chores like get up and milk the cows cut a load of fire wood uuuuuh fix some fence stuff like that sounds fun ,will work for hunting ground lol

Steve, better spend some time looking for new hunting ground. I've got 3 pups that never got their first wild bird point, all my fault. Health problems this year cut the season for me and the dogs. I've got to get that fixed so next season we can rock and roll. I have 2 females being bred, so tending at least 2 litters will take some time. I need to get the 3 pups on call-back birds! I want them semi-pro by the start of the season. They have many lessons ahead of them. I have been totally depending on WIHA for several years. I need some private ground where the dogs and I can get into birds at will!

You are right about that Troy. I need to get out and knock on some doors.

It was embarrassing that it took me that long to get a bird shot over Indy this season. Better do a little shooting practice. I have never shot this bad, must be that I am getting older and can't keep one eye on the pup and one on the bird, and make the shot

We have got to get together some time for some hunting or training. I have not gotten to see your dogs or pups yet.

Indy showed a lot of promise for a young pup this fall. Ace needs to understand that STW&S means on wild birds too, not just pigeons :(

I want to shot a PC over a point from Indy, and then get both dogs pointing some Scalies, Sharptail and Huns this coming season. Hope my wife has a sense of humor about that :D

My 3 pups did everything but trip into a bird. They only got about 8 days afield, so that's my fault. I just need that private piece with a load of hens on it. Gotta do my homework.

Found some potential new hunting ground in the morning & the coyote bowl final was: Coyotes 2, Koja 1. It was a fine morning!

Field trials, for certain breeds any way, are like extending your hunting. Check into some of those, dogs love it.

Both of these...
