What the hell to do with my life for the next 8-9 months...

Spense- I moved from northern Minnesota to Overland Park in 1970-
brother-in-law layed down the law- I lived with him- I liked his Brittany- I liked being arround him- for awhile- he and his freinds gave me my fisrt pointing dog

January 31st came arround- clean and put things away- time to get things done and show you weren't all about hunting

sort of the same with me ever since- going to go ski Colorado with my sister-
then just take it easy- maybe get back into field trials- owe my family a couple trips- play on the farm- ride the John Deer- try and see if from chasing pheasants for 3 months the Britt's will setlle down/chill out- and not high tail it when I let them out the gate- they've done pretty good- starting out as we don't hear you or care- to- hey- arround you is where the action is

all I've heard for 30 some years has been- "isn't hunting season over"

I'll likely get out for a chukar or pheasant hunt on a preserve in the next few weeks, just to get the dogs out one last time.

After that it's a lull until Spring turkey season. I'm going to try to headshot one with my bow this year (which I'll be recording). After that it's crappie time at the lake, then off to golfing, boating, wakeboarding, swimming, etc.

I'll probably smoke a few hundred pounds of meat over the summer... always a good time.

Then I'll get in the stand, and kick off the fall hunting season with my bow! :D

You still in Overland Park now??

And trust me I've got more than enough to do over the "Off season" My post title may have been a bit over the top. More or less just to see what else every else does outside of Pheasant hunting.

Overland Park was pretty small- I was Service Manager at B F Goodrich Tire at 79th & Metcalf-

still there- naa- I'm siting here looking out the window at all the white stuff on this 1/2 mile farm site- first real snow the pups have seen- they've got trails thru the snow drifts- not to long ago they all went on point- I stepped in- Jackrabbit hopped up snow flying with three Britt's chasing-

hey hey- that's a dang rabbit- get back here- they listened-

watch the snow melt

Finish up the tail end of the spearing season.train a few pups and keep the old ones sharp.take in a few preserves and wait for soft water.having three litters in a month should keep me out of trouble.
