What kind of grass is this

What kind of grass is this in the picture? I would like to learn the names of the majority of grasses found in the uplands. Is there a good resource I could check out that would have that info?

Brome.

Go to meanseeds . com and learn the ones to avoid. Others jus google native prairie grasses and you will see plenty.

Here's a few for you to "google image" if your interested. These grasses are the more common ones you'll can find out there.

The cool season grasses (such as brome/reed canary) are much more prevalent/common than the native warm seasons (such as big blue).

Jeff, when was the pic taken?
Sure looks like Brome. Brome will be full seeded by now. No Brome seed heads in the pic. There are 2 species of grass in the pic.
Those seed heads you see are from a cool season grass known in our area as June Grass. Native, and widely used for lawns. seeds in Central MN early June, Brome will seed a couple weeks later.
