So it has been pheasant watching time for me on youtube. A couple videos (both times they didn't have a dog) guys were walking along and every so often were hitting their fore ends of their shotguns like 3 to 4 times. Walk some more then do it again. What is that all about?

I presume they're activating the camera they're using on their gun barrel in anticipation of a flush
OMG I never thought of that. Is that how you start a shot cam? It was weird that both videos I have seen were guys without a dog. Probably over 90 percent of the videos on youtube are pheasant hunters with a dogs.

The one guy did it alot. Like after walking 10 yards smack smack smack another 10 yaeds and smack smack smack.

The other day I watched some ruffed grouse hunting videos. It's funny because it's the opposite, 90% of them did not have a dog. Overall they're not as good as pheasant videos because it's hard to see as well in the thick woods.

I watched one in Canada where a couple drove around and sluiced them off the road. The wife whiffed 2 times and the husband said that was a tough shot, it was walking. 😁😁 To each his own they were excited to be out there, grousing. It must be legal there. Eh?

So no dog. Activating Shot-Kams. Did they ever flush birds? If so, did they include Shot-Kam footage?

Shooting from inside a vehicle, is a big big thumbs down.
