Over the course of many seasons with some fine dog work, I can recall tracking crippled birds in various scenarios. Huns in rock piles, roosters in culverts and a fox hole (tail gave him away), quail in gopher holes and brush piles, last is a grouse in a hollow log. We were able to recover all the above birds with the nose on a FB-GR. I have been blessed with good dogs.
