Veterinarians in your area

I got to thinking that it may be helpful to compile a directory of qualified veterinarians in each respective state's hunting regions. Maybe it could be a sticky in each state's hunting forum -I don't know- but perhaps it could become a resource for people when they're hunting in new country and for purposes of sharing information. If nothing else, it's always good to know where the closest vet is located. Any thoughts?

Is there an SOP for getting something like this started or do we just wait and see what the moderators think?

I think that having it as easily accessible (smart phones in the field) could really help someone out who's in a jam. Perhaps a link from the homepage so that you don't have to dig through threads could be useful. I'm not sure what sort of IT/web design capabilities we have here but a zip code/map search functionality would be really handy. It'd be great to get as much collaboration on this as possible.

even if the thread is just started and everyone knows about it maybe they will think about looking and taking down the info as part of their getting ready checklist

True. I would think that if presented with info, most dog owners would be proactive about documenting vet contact info rather than waiting until it's too late. Hopefully this turns into something helpful.

I've used this doc once and he was very reasonable ($60.00) for some staples and anesthesia on a barbed wire cut and it was after hours.

Guys, hold off on doing this until the Webguy decides where he would like them put. I go along with being put in the States threads would be the best place. If you plan a trip you can get it quickly there. Thank you..... Bob.

Would it be acceptable to list a vet that you shouldn't take your dog to? cause I got one- I also know one that's very good. Kinda like a Craig's list. Happy hunting.
