Whose going hunting? I was not aware season is now 7 days vs. 5. Always nice to have a little more time.

We are in zone 1 and hunt in Trempealeau county.

I am going to try hard to get my first turkey with a bow this year. If I do I think it will have to go on wall in the cabin.

Nice Tom Chuckles! I hit it on Wednesday in zone 2. This is my first season at it and I'm already so excited I can barely sleep.

Off topic but does anyone have any best practices they would like to share on conditioning their glass calls?

We just got done with week 3 hunt in zone 1. We think the birds were majorily done with breeding, many hens on nests and lone toms not responding to calls and not much if any gobbling from the roost. We attribute it to the early spring weather.

We did have one 12 year old in our group bag his first Tom on Wed on his birthday. his Dad had been hunting with me for 5 years or longer without having shot a bird and let his son shoot the Tom as he was sitting in the blind with him and called in the bird for his boy. Pretty cool.

I had a tag for 1st season. Didn't get an ounce of time to get out:mad::(

I've got some big boys running around one of my spots. Have to see if IL has a over-the-counter tag option for unfilled tags. Maybe I can get out later in the season:)

Good luck to all of you getting out this spring. Congrats to those who have filled their tags already. Nice job:thumbsup:

Good luck...may the force be with you!
Not sure where your area is, but seems this early warm spell we had kicked their sex drive into overdrive prematurely. Not much calling going on from what I saw in Iowa and am hearing from others. Be prepared do do some stalking. Any other opinions?

P S... Did manage to bag a 20 lb tom with 10 1/2" beard in Iowa last weekend!
