turkey tag question

ok Kansas guys......whats the deal with the "game tag"

regulations say.....one bearded turkey per permit AND one bearded turkey per game tag.

question 1. Do you HAVE to have both a turkey permit AND game tag to hunt turkey?

question 2. are the permit and game tag 2 different things all together or do you need one of each to kill 1 turkey? THis is confusing...AND you need your regular KS hunting license also correct?

In the past you have always had your "regular" spring turkey permit which was for one bearded turkey.

Then you could purchase another permit which was also for one bearded turkey. I haven't seen how it's written but perhaps they are now calling the second tag a "game tag".

Confusion arises (blame the KDWPT) because of terminology and because a hunter can buy more than one permit in both spring and fall seasons. So a turkey permit includes the license itself and the tag to be attached to the bird. If you want to shoot more than one, you buy additional "game tags" and the license indicates the total number of turkeys you can shoot and the document also includes the appropriate number of actual tags for attachment to the birds. If you download from the KDWPT website it is all one document and you have to scissor off the actual tag for attachment to the bird.

ahhhhhhhh. so...if I buy the combo turkey tag/game tag...I can shoot 2 turkeys???????

why oh WHY do they have to make it soo confusing..lol

If it's the lowest price, that would be for one tarkey. You have to pay more for extra birds. That price differential will help you sort it out.

Non resident general tag $32.50

Non res game tag $22.50

Non res tag/game tag
combo $47.50 ?

Yes you are correct. The combo means you can kill 2 birds. I believe you must use the permit on your first bird and the game tag on your second.
