Welp, chance got his ACL surgery on April 17th...Just as many of you who have already been thru it with a canine hunting partner indicated, it is pure H-E-L-L keeping him off of it during the initial recovery period.

Regardless of the future hunting outcome, I am glad I did it. He had reached a point where he was pretty much immobilized & in constant pain, and it was obvious nothing was ever going to change without the surgery. In addition to being my hunting buddy, he is a wonderful house companion to both my wife & I. Sufficient money or not, neither of us could bear watching him in this condition any longer. Here's to hopefully at least a few more hunting seasons left ahead! :cheers:
